My Story: Web Dev, Blogging & Digital Routines

How do you waste the most time every day?

There was a time when I’d lose hours without even realizing it. A quick check on Instagram would turn into 45 minutes of scrolling. I’d open my laptop to work and suddenly find myself multitasking between five tabs, getting nothing meaningful done. Procrastination, mindless scrolling, and trying to do too many things at once — these small habits seemed harmless in the moment, but they added up quickly and left me feeling scattered.

But that started to change when I began learning web development and got serious about blogging. These two things gave me a focus — a reason to sit down with intention, to track progress, and to build something I could be proud of. Coding, especially, has taught me discipline and patience. You can’t really fake your way through a broken layout or a bug — you either fix it or you don’t. That clarity helped me bring the same mindset to other parts of my life too.

That said, I won’t pretend I’ve stopped scrolling altogether. I still use Instagram — especially now that I’ve started growing my new account, @codewithkriti. But the difference is how I use it.

Now, it’s part of the process. I post updates about my learning, share resources, write captions that speak to fellow beginners, and connect with like-minded learners. Yes, I still scroll sometimes — I’m human, after all — but I try to be intentional. I engage with others, reply to DMs, leave thoughtful comments, and support creators who inspire me.

It’s all about balance. I’ve learned that being productive doesn’t mean being perfect — it means being aware. And when I do catch myself slipping into old habits, I gently remind myself of the bigger picture I’m working toward.

So here I am — still learning, still growing, and trying every day to make my time count.
