Adapting to Change: Lessons from a Balcony View

This morning, I stepped out to my balcony for a simple project—capture what catches my attention.

The first thing that pulled me in was a small plant I’ve seen many times before. But today, I noticed something different—new leaves. It’s still growing, quietly, in its limited space. How wonderful is nature—it grows in whatever space we give it and asks for so little in return.

Just beyond the plant, my eyes wandered to the sky, then to the chimneys of a station nearby. It was calm now. But I know once the station starts, the quiet will be replaced with the usual mechanical noise. Or maybe I don’t know—because I might not be here long enough to witness that change.

Maybe this is the last time I’m staying here.

That made the moment feel even more precious. The stillness, the view, the unknown of what it might become.

What I felt was change—in the leaves, the sky, the sounds, and even within myself. Change really is the only constant. The view you see one second might shift completely the next. And the sooner we learn to embrace that, the easier life becomes.

I’ve always believed I’m adaptable, and today, I hope I carry that same energy forward. Whether it’s a new city, a new view, or a new version of myself—I’m learning to grow, just like that little plant.
