Where did your name come from?
My name, Kriti, was chosen by my father. He found inspiration in spirituality, drawing the name from the Durga Chalisa. In Sanskrit, Kriti means “creation,” a word that carries the essence of new beginnings, artistry, and possibilities.
I’ve always liked my name—it feels like a part of me, something I can identify with deeply. Unlike others who might experiment with nicknames, I prefer to be called simply Kriti. It keeps me connected to the original meaning and the intention behind it.
So far, I haven’t had the chance to fully live up to the meaning of my name. But I believe one day, I’ll create something meaningful—something that reflects the spirit of “Kriti.” Interestingly, what once felt like a unique name has become more common over the years. Still, for me, its value lies not in rarity, but in the story and blessings behind it.
If there’s one message my name carries, it’s this: be creative and adaptable. Life is a journey of constant creation, and I hope to honor my name by living that out.
