Yesterday, I came across an article titled The Magic of Zero on The Speaking Tree, and it stayed with me. The idea was simple yet powerful: zero is not emptiness, but a space that can amplify, redirect, and give meaning to everything around it. For me, this directly connects with the way I look at success and failure in my own journey.
As a student, success often feels like a straightforward path: get good grades, land a good job, and keep moving upward. That’s what society tells us, and in many ways, it is true. But for me, success is not just about reaching that final destination—it is also about the little steps I take each day, the 1% progress that builds me into a better version of myself.
Failure, on the other hand, is something we all fear. I am preparing for an important interview tomorrow where students in my college will be categorized into A, B, or C groups. Honestly, I’m not feeling well, and I don’t know how it will go. For a moment, this uncertainty scared me. But then I read this article, and it gave me hope. Maybe even if things don’t go my way, life is just redirecting me towards a different path, one that I might not have seen otherwise. That “zero point” could be the beginning of something new.
The truth is, setbacks are not the end. I don’t always know how to handle them, but somehow, words or articles like these appear at the right time and remind me to face challenges with confidence.
If I had to leave you with one message, it would be this: don’t be afraid. Some things are already written in your destiny, but you still have the power to shape them through your actions every single day.
So the next time you find yourself at zero, don’t see it as nothing. See it as a beginning.
