Blue Skies and Calm Minds

Describe one of your favorite moments.

Right after my mid-term exams ended, I packed my bags and headed off on a much-awaited college trip to McLeodganj. After all the late-night study sessions, stress, and caffeine overload, this getaway couldn’t have come at a better time.

As soon as we reached and I stepped onto my hotel balcony, I was greeted with a view that felt like a deep breath for my soul.

The sky stretched out in the brightest shade of blue, painted with soft, floating clouds that moved lazily over the lush green hills. Below, colorful rooftops added character to the peaceful valley, as if nature had designed the perfect escape.

The fresh mountain air hit me instantly—it was cool, crisp, and completely different from the city rush I’d just left behind. With each breath, I felt my shoulders relax and my thoughts slow down.

In that moment, standing there with a view that looked like a postcard, I felt a sense of peace I hadn’t felt in weeks. It wasn’t just the beauty of the hills, or the excitement of the trip ahead. It was the feeling of finally letting go—of stress, deadlines, and expectations—and just being present.

I smiled, realizing this was exactly the break I needed.

With my friends chatting excitedly in the background, and plans for adventure filling the air, I knew this trip was going to be special.

That first glimpse of McLeodganj from the balcony set the tone for everything that followed—fun, freedom, and moments I’ll carry with me long after college ends.
