Are there things you try to practice daily to live a more sustainable lifestyle?
Because every action counts.
Sustainability often feels like a big, overwhelming goal. But I’ve come to believe that it starts with small, intentional choices — the kind we make quietly, every single day. These aren’t grand gestures. They’re habits rooted in awareness and care. Here are a few small changes I’ve made that not only reduce my footprint, but make me feel more mindful in daily life:
1️⃣ I unsubscribe from unnecessary emails
It sounds so simple, but it makes a difference. Fewer unread emails mean less data stored on servers, which translates to lower energy usage. Plus, a cleaner inbox means more mental clarity for me — and a tiny bit of relief for the planet. Less digital clutter = less carbon.
2️⃣ I use a bucket instead of a shower
Especially in India, where water scarcity is a real concern, this switch can save litres of water every single day. It’s a small shift in routine with a big impact — and it reminds me not to take clean, accessible water for granted.
3️⃣ I try to minimize AC usage
Instead of running the air conditioner, I rely on fans, cross-ventilation, and breathable cotton clothes during hot months. It’s not always easy, but every hour without AC saves electricity and reduces emissions. It also makes me more connected to natural rhythms, like breezes and sunset cool-downs.
4️⃣ I carry a reusable water bottle
It’s one of the simplest sustainable habits — and one I never regret. It means no plastic waste, fewer impulse purchases, and always staying hydrated without harming the environment. Win-win.
💭 I’m not perfect — but I try.
Some days I forget, and that’s okay. The goal isn’t to be flawless — it’s to stay aware, stay curious, and keep choosing better when we can.
Because sustainability isn’t a destination. It’s a practice. A mindset.
And it begins with the little things we do — for ourselves, for others, and for the only planet we call home.
→ No more buying plastic bottles when I’m out. It’s simple, practical, and eco-friendly.
